Croatia. Hvar Island

Hvar Island is one of Croatia’s most popular destinations. We decided to explore the beauty of Hvar Island by walking the path from Hvar to the Milna settlement, discovering the most vibrant places along the way. Surrounding the town of Hvar are several idyllic beaches, each offering its own unique charm, crystal-clear waters, and stunning landscapes. Here’s a closer look at them...
Map of the trip...
Located just a short walk from Hvar town, Pokonji Dol Beach is one of the most accessible and popular beaches on the island...
The beach is ideal for swimming and sunbathing, with a relaxed vibe and a few beach bars and restaurants where visitors can enjoy local cuisine and drinks by the sea. Its gentle, shallow waters make it a great spot for families and casual swimmers...

This pebbly beach is set in a beautiful cove and offers breathtaking views of the small, picturesque Pokonji Dol island just off the coast...
A little further from Hvar town, Strand Mekićevica is a more secluded and peaceful option. This beach is accessible via a scenic coastal walk...

Mekićevica has a mix of white pebbles and rocks, with stunning turquoise waters that are perfect for swimming and snorkeling. There are no major facilities, so it retains a more natural, untouched feel, ideal for those wanting a quiet escape...

Just a short walk beyond Mekićevica lies Beach Robinson, a hidden gem with a raw, unspoiled beauty. The beach takes its name from the feeling of seclusion and adventure it offers, reminiscent of being on a deserted island. The beach is smaller and rockier than others but incredibly peaceful, with fewer visitors due to its more remote location. The crystal-clear waters are great for snorkeling, and its rugged charm makes it popular among those seeking an off-the-beaten-path experience...

The coastal path from Hvar to Milna offer stunning views of the Adriatic Sea, winding through picturesque landscapes dotted with fragrant Mediterranean vegetation...

This scenic route took us along rugged cliffs, secluded coves, and hidden beaches, providing a peaceful escape while showcasing the island's natural beauty...

The paths are well-marked and suitable for leisurely walks or more adventurous hikes, making it a perfect way to explore the serene coastline and enjoy the breathtaking vistas of Hvar...

Plaža Mala Borča is another small, tranquil beach located close to Milna, often sought out by those in search of a quiet retreat. It is surrounded by rugged cliffs and pine trees, offering a serene environment away from the busier beaches. Like the other nearby coves, Mala Borča has pebbly shores and pristine, clear waters.

It’s an ideal spot for swimming and unwinding in nature...
