Norway. Trolltunga
The hike around Lake Ringedalsvatnet, along the route of which is the famous spot called "Troll's Tongue," was the main goal of our journey... But amidst the most popular rock in Norway, we saw many other beautiful landscapes...
Over three days, we circled the lake via the surrounding mountains, starting the ascent from the town of Odda and ending the route in the settlement of Tyssedal...
The route map:
From the Bergen bus station, we took the early morning bus 9:30 to Odda... In Norway, traveling by transport is another attraction... Through the bus window, we saw incredible landscapes, and the route itself was filled with tunnels, bridges, and even a ferry crossing over the fjord...
Reaching the town of Odda, we immediately felt the beauty of the fjords...After a snack on the fjord's shore, we headed up a picturesque mountain trail...
Climbing higher, we saw the town in all its beauty...
Gaining the main altitude, we headed to the first overnight spot...
Reaching the top of Langavassfjellet (1468 m), we signed the register hidden in a box among the boulders...
The weather turned drastically bad, and it started to drizzle...
But soon we reached our planned overnight spot by the lake...
The next morning, we woke up in a magical place...
That day was my birthday, so I started the day with a dip...
Packing up the tent and our belongings, we continued along the route... Sometimes we had to cross streams by taking off our shoes...
The weather that day was wonderful...
For my birthday, I received a small binoculars for the hike, which made it very interesting to look at the glaciers...
Reaching the glacial lake, we saw a hut - a shelter, with two bunk beds and a stove. It could have been a great place for an overnight stay...
Here we stopped for lunch...The glacial lake ends at a dam, which our route crossed...
Classic rocky landscapes...
Slowly we reached the next lake covered in ice, and the next dam...
Snowy passes created a special atmosphere along our route...
Sometimes the snowy slopes were quite steep...
All day we saw only a few tourists heading in the opposite direction, so we enjoyed the solitude...
We reached the famous "Troll's Tongue" in the evening... Dianka inflated balloons in honor of my birthday, and we took photos at this legendary spot...
The sunset...
The location of our tent... In the morning, I went to one of the most beautiful viewpoints, located 1.5 kilometers from the "Troll's Tongue"...
We had passed this spot the previous day, but I returned to see these fantastic views again...
Though the views from our campsite were no less beautiful...
After lunch, we packed up the tent and headed along the trail towards the settlement of Tyssedal... Passing by the "Troll's Tongue," we saw the line of tourists wanting to take photos growing steadily... They say at peak times, you have to wait several hours... Many people only hike up to this spot, although it's just a small part of the beauty that filled our entire route...
Descending the classic trail, you can see the lake from slightly different angles...
Reaching Tyssedal and walking a bit beyond the settlement, we found a spot for the tent on the fjord's shore...
The next day, we set out for Sognefjord to continue exploring the picturesque sea channels...
