Lithuania. Biplan on the Baltic coast

Once, when I couldn't even imagine that my life would be connected to Lithuania in any way, back in the early 2000s, I heard the Lithuanian band Biplan... They were just starting their musical journey then, and their music resonated with me... So, listening to them live was only a matter of time, and that time finally came... Their performance on the Baltic Sea coast at Oldman Parkas was quite fitting for spending the weekend by the sea and enjoying the sound of my favorite Lithuanian band...    Unfortunately, or fortunately, not a large audience gathered for the concert, so on one hand, we got the chance to sit at the best spot near the stage, but on the other hand, there wasn't that true drive of the crowd that moves with you in the flow of the music...

Since the concert took place on Friday evening, we spent the next two days by the sea, at our favorite campsite near Palanga - Camping At The Sea... The campsite's location is very cool, about 200 meters from the sea, and the path to it goes through a pine forest and a small dune...

We have already gotten used to watching the sunset by the sea every time... Even despite the Euro quarter-final, where Ukraine played against England, we still went to the beach and didn't miss either... Thanks to civilization, gadgets, and wireless internet...

Although Ukraine didn't please us with the result that evening, the evening meeting with a seal that crawled out of the sea lifted our spirits...

Another reason why we love staying at this campsite so much is that there is a cool bike path about 14 kilometers long nearby, which connects the resort town of Palanga and the settlement of Šventoji... It's just a paradise for rollerblading enthusiasts... The best rollerblading track in Lithuania, passing through pine forests and away from the car road, attracts many cyclists, rollerbladers, runners, and scooter enthusiasts during the day... That's why the best time to ride is in the morning...
Palanga and its main landmark - the pier into the sea...

Interestingly, along the pier, there is now an installation of old photos of the town, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Palanga's liberation from Latvia...

And this is how the pier looks from a drone...

  Our breakfast at the campsite...
  The beach...

  The traditional sunset...

The main feature of the Baltic coast is that it is not built up with various establishments and still retains its natural beauty... The sea, the pines, the dunes... It's nice that people appreciate the forests and nature in general and don't allow the coastline to be built up... You can walk along the sea all the way to Latvia, and you won't encounter a single fence or private territory on your way...
