What we value most in lakes are the islands. The more, the better, especially if there are no buildings nearby and everything is covered in forests. Among all the lakes in Lithuania, Lake Peršokšnai somewhat meets these criteria. Of course, having set a high standard after our trip to the lakes of Finland, we've become quite picky. Yet, we're glad that there are also beautiful places in our region...
One of the main discoveries after we started traveling with a kayak was how much the movement through natural water spaces calms the mind. Water surrounds various forms of life, and you find yourself in its epicenter. The kayak doesn't create unnecessary noise, unlike motorboats, and everything moves smoothly without sharp jolts...

It's very nice that in natural parks, in addition to paid recreation areas, there are also free campsites "stovyklavietė," which are clean and cozy. There are places designated for campfires, toilets, benches with tables, and pavilions. Most importantly, there's the constant singing of birds and the huge pine trees, which together create a fantastic atmosphere...
