Latvia. Tuja
Not far from the main Riga-Tallinn road is the Latvian settlement of Tuja... It is home to a very cool campsite called "Jūrasdzeņi," which translates from Latvian as "sea urchins"... The campsite is very well and originally organized, and its main advantage over all others is its location...
The Gulf of Riga...
A better place for a tent is hard to imagine... Right by the sea... You feel the energy of the Baltic waves throughout your stay...
This campsite is super harmonious... I liked it so much for its atypicality and original solutions that I wanted to write unusually more about it... Instead of the usual buildings with kitchens, toilets, and washbasins, there are gazebos adapted for all these functions...
The kitchen gazebo... While cooking something delicious in the kitchen, you feel continuous contact with the sea, which is visible right from the "work area"... There are several sinks, gas stoves, and an electric kettle...
Toilets... Sinks are located on the side upon exit, allowing you not to linger inside just to, for example, brush your teeth... There is also an adapted sink for children...
The toilet feature is that, besides the usual room, there is also a convenient alternative for men...
And the sink over the urinal simply "blew my mind" with its simple and apt functionality... You wash your hands and simultaneously flush... Brilliant...
There is also an activity area, which is a very rare feature in other campsites... Pull-up bars, parallel bars, an unusual barbell with stones, swings, a mini football goal, and a basketball hoop... It seems that the person who created all this is very much in tune, at least with my preferences :)...
And then there's the sunset...
This is how our Finnish-Baltic journey ended... We discovered a new experience of traveling by car, a new format of interaction with natural places - kayaking, and we further appreciated the convenience of using campsites...
