Latvia. Pape

Near the border between Lithuania and Latvia lies the small Latvian coastal settlement of Pape. It is the best place to escape the hustle and bustle of Lithuanian beaches and feel peace during the peak season. We spent three days by the sea, staying in a campsite right by the shore. We visited the nature park located around the lake of the same name, photographed the grazing wild horses with a drone, and captured panoramic views of the reserve...
There is an active lighthouse on the beach...

Sunsets are always something special by the sea...
Camping in the very heart of nature... Behind are the marshy lakes of the nature park, and in front, just a hundred meters away, is the Baltic Sea...
In the morning, when it's still cool on the beach, we went for a walk in the park...
Observation tower in the forest kingdom...

   Lake Pape...

A group of swans in the lake's thickets...
Not far from the lake, wild horses and cattle graze. A sign at the entrance to the area warns that it is dangerous to approach the horses closer than 30 meters without a local guide. But with a drone, it is much easier...

Spending the weekend in nature makes us more attuned to the natural world...
Returning home from the sea, we stopped by the roadside to capture the morning views of the deserted road... our favorite path to the vast and sometimes harsh Baltic Sea...
