Hike with hammock (110 km)

A fast-paced light hiking trip covering a distance of 110 kilometers over two days with an overnight stay in hammocks became a new way for us to complete the route. The main goal, apart from covering a long distance, was to test ultra-light hammocks from the Ukrainian manufacturer Liteway in real conditions, specifically the Simple Hammock XL.
The route was planned with the simplest and cheapest transportation options for both the start and return. We aimed to start in Slavsko at 9:00 in the morning and catch the train in Volovets at 19:46 the next day. From the Slavsko railway station to the Volovets railway station, the route went through the Torun Pass, Lake Synevyr, Mizhhirya, and Borzhava ridges.
Along the ridge to Torun Pass...
   Lake Synevyr...
Climbing to the top of Mount Ozernaya...
Obstacles on the descent from Ozernaya...
And here is the most interesting part of the hike... Overnight stay in hammocks in the forest on the mountainside...
We really liked the Simplex Hammock XL model from the Ukrainian store Liteway. Its main strengths are the quality and lightweight breathable material, convenient cover, and compactness. However, like all lightweight gear, it requires careful handling. In our opinion, the length of the ropes on both sides is a bit short, and adding 2 meters would provide more attachment options.
Dima also took a tarp for testing, but there was no rainfall...

The hammock is a very convenient and compact option for an overnight stay in warm weather, but you must use a sleeping pad to avoid getting a cold back. It’s nice to go on a fast hike with all your gear fitting into an 18-liter backpack. A hammock weighing 205 grams that fits in the palm of your hand, a 500-gram down sleeping bag, a 400-gram inflatable pad, a 25-gram stove, a small gas canister, and a one-liter mug. The rest is food supplies and a few other items...
All for the sake of the mountains...
