Turkey. Marmaris

In Marmaris, we spent three days with our friend Khalil... He invited us onto his yacht "Hypnose"... In the mornings, we would go for a run along the promenade, combining it with short swims in the sea; during the day, we strolled around the town and once sailed out on the yacht, and in the evenings, we enjoyed heartfelt moments accompanied by the ukulele...
Khalil met us at the Marmaris bus station and we drove to the port where his yacht was docked...
The yacht had everything necessary and at the same time was luxurious... A living room, an ergonomic kitchen, three bedrooms, each with a toilet and shower, a small utility room with a washing machine and dryer... Everything in one style and nothing superfluous... The yacht was connected to electricity via a proper extension cord... Special sockets were placed on the pier near each parking spot...

In the evening, we visited a fish restaurant where our friend wanted us to try all the best dishes... Although it was like this everywhere we went... For four days, Khalil organized whole gastronomic tours for us... Dishes of seafood, eggplants, delicate desserts, baklava, yogurts, ayran...
A stark contrast of the journey... After spending the night in the "wild" conditions of the Lycian Trail to find ourselves on a yacht... Which is better?... It's hard to compare and there's no point, like any comparisons... I liked this very contrast, which gave a sense of the fullness of sensual life...
On the second day, we cast off from the shore and set sail... It was very interesting to watch how a motorboat towed us out of our parking spot, even though it seemed there was too little space to turn around since our yacht was the longest of all...

Leaving the port, we headed to the nearest island...
The most beautiful Marmaris is from the sea...

Without leaving the bay, we anchored near the nearest island with turquoise waters...

A cool addition to the yacht was a jet ski attached to the stern, on which we sliced through the waters of the Mediterranean Sea...

We spent the whole day at sea... After that, we lifted anchor and headed back to the port...

The next day we dedicated to a walk around this very beautiful resort town...

Climbing a small hill, a panorama of Marmaris opened up from the terrace of the highest café in town...

In the evening, Khalil took us to the so-called "heavenly island" - the "Nimara" peninsula... An ancient town of Nimara was once located here... At the highest point of the island, there is a cave where the ancient inhabitants of the peninsula worshipped the gods... Excavations indicate the presence of people in the cave more than 15,000 years ago... We climbed to the cave on foot and imaginatively touched the ancient times...
On the third day, we said goodbye to Marmaris and headed to Izmir, from where we were to fly home the next day...

Upon reaching Izmir, we rested a bit, and in the evening went for a walk along the bay... Here we tasted mussels with rice for the first time, which were served in shells... Opening the shell and squeezing a little lemon juice onto the mixture of rice and mussel, you scoop up the delicious contents with one half of the shell as if it were a spoon, conveniently nestled in the other half of the shell... Imagining it can be much tastier than seeing it in a photo... And in the photo, pleasant evening landscapes from the promenade...

As always, the best dinner is only in the best company... Khalil created a very warm atmosphere for us, filling our space with his energy...
