Lithuania. Road Trip
Driving through Lithuania, we were able to see many interesting and unusual places. We saw Raudonė Castle in the town of the same name, enjoyed delicious desserts at a restaurant on the grounds of Raudondvaris Manor, and climbed one of the beautifully landscaped mounds, which offered a stunning view of Lithuania's main river, the Nemunas...
As we drove through the small expanses of Lithuania, we stopped at one of the historical sites - the Lowland Panemunė mound. It's a kind of hill, with a wooden staircase leading to the top, quite unique...
Stairway to heaven...
At the top of the hill, there's a view of the Nemunas, Lithuania's longest river...
Near the town of Raudonė is Raudonė Castle, constructed in the 16th century...
For a symbolic fee, you can climb the castle tower...
Panoramic views of the Nemunas surrounded by greenery from the top of the tower...
About 5 kilometers from Kaunas is Raudondvaris Castle, which translates to "Red Manor"...
A stone statue on the manor grounds...
We enjoyed the swings on a huge tree...
Despite our rather casual dress code, we went inside. We chose seats in a room called the orangery, where a palm tree grew up to the ceiling...
We ordered very tasty and appetizing desserts...
On the manor grounds, I was also intrigued by an outdoor exhibition of steel figurines...
