Austria. Salzburg
On our way back from a trip through Italy, we spent a day in Salzburg. The Italian heat was replaced by the cool Austrian weather... We took a good stroll through the city's central streets, enjoyed the views of the Alpine mountains, climbed a bit up the mountain leading to the fortress, explored the main cathedrals from the inside, and saw the font where the city's most famous resident, Mozart, was baptized...
We stayed overnight at a hotel complex located in a very picturesque area near a lake, not far from the Austrian city of Villach...
Salzburg greeted us with clear skies and mild sunshine...
The view from the bridge over the Salzach River, dividing the city into two parts, and the promenades on both sides, reminded us of our beloved landscapes in Uzhhorod...
While walking around the city, we came across specialty shops selling delicious "Mozart" chocolates, adding a sweet flavor to Salzburg's architectural decor...
The central square...
The Cathedral of Saints Rupert and Virgil...
Inside the cathedral is the font where Mozart was baptized...
St. Peter's Cathedral...
Climbing a bit up Festungsberg Mountain, leading to the Hohensalzburg Fortress, we were treated to beautiful Alpine scenery...
And on the other side, the main buildings of the old part of the city...
Colorful shops and medieval streets brought a festive atmosphere to an ordinary day...
