Czech Republic. České Budějovice
While traveling through the Czech Republic, after a day trip to Český Krumlov, we stopped for the night in the small Czech town of České Budějovice, located 25 kilometers from Krumlov. We stayed at the "Dvořák" hotel, whose windows overlooked the main square, giving us the entire next day to leisurely explore the town...
Stepping out for a morning walk, we immediately felt the advantage of staying in the center... As soon as we stepped outside, the main square was right at our feet...
The main attractions of the town square include the Samson Fountain in Baroque style...
The Town Hall with three towers and statues representing justice, courage, wisdom, and prudence, built in 1730...
... and the 72-meter "Black Tower," next to St. Nicholas Cathedral (to the right)...
The Samson Fountain remains the main highlight of the square...
Climbing up the "Black Tower," we tried to take in the view of the town from a height of 70 meters...
Strolling through the small streets of the town, not overcrowded with people, we leisurely explored different corners of the town without using any public transport and enjoyed the tranquility...
A sculptural group of office workers heading to work drew particular attention...
Some unusual houses also caught our eye...
...an example of how to brighten up the unattractive view of a construction site and make it bright and appealing...
České Budějovice also has a spacious park where it's comfortable to relax...
But still, all roads lead to the historic center of the town, to the town square...
And of course, we can't forget about the beer... The name of the famous "Budweiser" comes from the name České Budějovice, and all the beer produced in the town's area has been called this since 1531...
